Learning Italian
Learning a foreign language is not that easy. You have to have dedication and patience when learning Italian because the journey will be rough. The first thing you need to do though is buy a handy Italian dictionary. This will help you familiarize yourself with the vocabulary as well as find corresponding Italian words for the things you want to say.
An Italian dictionary with corresponding English words and an English dictionary with corresponding words are greatly useful. When using the former, you will be able to look up the meaning of Italian words that you hear from your Italian speaking friends with the Italian dictionary. The latter, on the other hand, will help you converse in Italian by translating your English thoughts for you.
Speaking Italian
There really is no point in knowing how to write and read Italian when you cannot speak the language. A part of the learning Italian is knowing how to say Italian words properly. The typical Italian dictionary usually has a pronunciation key which guides you in pronouncing Italian words correctly. You can use this key to have a general overview with regards to how Italian words are supposed to sound like.
Though helpful, speaking Italian using the pronunciation guide in your Italian dictionary is not enough. You would have to hear the language being spoken by people who speak it naturally. May it be your friends or a tutor, make sure that you are able to listen to conversations in Italian. If possible and if you think you're ready, you might even want to join in the conversation. You are guaranteed to learn a thing or two from the people who knows it best. The practice is always good for your learning because it exposes you to the actual uses of the language thereby hastening your learning process.
